Participants who successfully complete the course receive an Instructor Manual, PowerPoint presentation materials for teaching others and a Certificate of Competency.
Re-certification is a two-day course and is required once every two years.
Course attendees must be in good physical condition with no physical limitations or illnesses that would prevent the student from fully participating safely in all activities. (Backfill approved).

This course meets and exceeds the minimum state standards for Arrest, Physical Control and Restraint Instructor training component as set forth in Regulation 1082, Regulation 1070 and PC §832 of, the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and the California Corrections Standard Authority, Board of Corrections.
Following is a list of equipment that we suggest you bring to the course.
- Expandable Baton (If you do not own a baton, bring a rattan stick as used in Filipino stick fighting. *Ratton sticks may be purchased at the course.
- A Karambit
- Rubber Training Gun. If you have access to additional rubber training guns bring them.
- Rubber Training Knife. If you have additional training knives bring them.
- Handcuffs (will be provided if you do not own a pair)
- Tactical Duty Belt (for MIL/LE as used daily at work)
- Training uniform (soft soled shoes or boots)
- Protective groin cup
